My moon sign is in Capricorn.
I do not eat raisins.
I never drink wine.
I graduated magna cum laude with a dual BFA focusing on both Fibers and Printmaking & Book Arts, while also earning a minor in Art History and a Certificate in Rock ‘n’ Roll Studies from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
I am currently studying aromatherapy.
My afternoons are spent trying to befriend crows by luring them to my yard with gifts.
I want to feel alive like the delinquent youth who went to see Blackboard Jungle in the theater and couldn’t process the sound and energy when they first heard “Rock Around the Clock”.
Under the weight of the world’s enormities, the climate crisis, and pop culture ego, I don’t think we will ever get to experience that kind of raw ecstatic joy, but that is what I am looking for in everything I do.
You are alive, but do you FEEL alive?
Some say that existence on Earth is the universe’s way of experiencing itself. If I am the universe having a human experience, then like the universe, I am bound by a fervid desire to breathe and thrive beyond my given form.
Utilizing cross-disciplinary skills, I create items to experience the emotional and physical labor that goes into creating that specific item, to see myself reflected within the artifact. That artifact, an intentionally formed art object with its own purpose, inherent value, and kissed on the cheek with the blessings of the full moon, is then sent out into the world to fulfill its journey with whomever is called to the item.
It is important to me that art objects exist with a dual purpose. The item created can be useful and serve a utilitarian function as well as radiate visual charm. If they are meant for you, they will let you know. If not, better luck next time.
